Robinhood prediction markets tax documents
Checked against Robinhood prediction markets’s own pages on 2026-09-13.
This is a CFTC-regulated market rather than a sportsbook. There is often no tax form at all for your trading gains, and you are left to report them yourself.
What Robinhood prediction markets issues
1- No 1099 of any kind for event contracts. Robinhood states this plainly.
- An event contracts annual statement instead
Where to find it
1Account, then Reports and statements, then Annual reports. Realised profit and loss sits under Investing, then Realized profit & loss, then Prediction markets, though that view excludes fees.
When it appears
1Typically late January or early February.
How it reaches you
1Robinhood prediction markets delivers it in your account.
Robinhood Derivatives, LLC, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant. Consolidated 1099s come under Robinhood Markets, Inc. The contracts themselves execute on a third set of venues, including KalshiEX LLC.
The win/loss statement, which is not your tax form
1Robinhood calls the annual statement the authoritative record of costs, proceeds and net profit and loss for the year, and says in the same breath that it is not a substitute tax reporting form.
This is the document a session log is built from, and the one most often mistaken for a tax form. Per wager or per session, and why it changes your bill.
Worth knowing
- Robinhood says outright that event contract trades are not reported to the IRS by Robinhood, that no 1099 is provided for them, and that reporting them is your responsibility. It gives the reason: the IRS has issued no specific guidance.
- A consolidated 1099 naming Robinhood Derivatives can still arrive and contain none of your event contract activity, which is easy to misread.
- Robinhood says it will change its approach if the IRS issues guidance, so this answer can change.
